600119 Disclosed are process for preparing a compound of formula (3) which is 5-Biphenyl-4-ylmethyl-3-methylpyrrolidin-2-one. An example of the process includes reacting a compound of formula 5 (5-Biphenyl-4-ylmethyl-3-hydroxymethyl-pyrrolidin-2-one) to form a compound of formula 12 (such as 5-Biphenyl-4-ylmethyl-3-iodomethyl-pyrrolidin-2-one) and then reducing it to a compound of formula (3). Also disclosed is a compound prepared by the processes. |
