abstract |
Provides is a radiolabeled annexin, in which an annexin molecule comprises a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 10 histidine residues at its N-terminus, at least two of said histidine residues being adjacent or separated by no more than one other amino acid and being bound to a metal radionuclide, and in which the annexin molecule carries one or more cysteine residues at the concave side of the annexin molecule. Specific N-terminal sequences are also disclosed. The compounds can be used to image cell death in nucleated cells within a mammal in vivo. |
