abstract Disclosed herein is a method for improving the yield and/or improving the vigour and/or increasing the tolerance or resistance to abiotic stress factors of at least one plant variety, comprising treating the plant and/or the locus where the plant is growing or is intended to grow with N-(3',4' ,5'-trifluorobiphenyl-2-yl)-3-difluoromethyl-1-methyl-1 H-pyrazole-4-carboxamide, where improving the yield and improving the plant vigour and increasing the plant's tolerance or resistance to abiotic stress factors are independent of the pesticidal action of said caboxamide, and where treating the plant and/or the locus where the plant is growing or is intended to grow does not encompass treating the plant propagules.
