abstract A process for manufacturing a bolus is disclosed, wherein the method comprises the steps of:- (a) introducing a densifier and a binder into a mould; (b) mixing the contents of the mould, which comprise the densifier and the binder, by vibration; and (c) solidifying the contents of the mould so as to form a bolus, wherein the binder is fluid during steps (a) and (b). Preferably the densifier is a powdered metallic compound such as zinc powder and the binder is selected from paraffin wax; carnauba wax; beeswax, or the like, or any combination thereof.
