titleOfInvention | Manipulation of flavonoid biosynthesis in plants (6) and isolated nucleic acids encoding flavanone 3-hydroxylase (F3H) |
abstract | Disclosed is a substantially purified or isolated nucleic acid or nucleic acid fragment encoding F3H, or complementary or antisense to a sequence encoding F3H, said nucleic acid or nucleic acid sequence including a nucleotide sequence selected from the group consisting of (a) sequences shown in Figure 73 hereto (Sequence ID No: 202); (b) complements of the sequences recited in (a); (c) sequences antisense to the sequences recited in (a) and (b); and (d) functionally active fragments and variants of the sequences recited in (a), (b) or (c), wherein said functionally active fragment or variant has a sequence having at least 80% identity to the sequence upon which the fragment or variant is based and has a size of at least 20 nucleotides. Further disclosed is a substantially purified or isolated F3H polypeptide, wherein said polypeptide includes an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of (a) sequences shown in Figure 74 hereto (Sequence ID No: 203); and (b) functionally active fragments and variants of the sequences shown in (a), wherein said functionally active fragment or variant has a sequence having at least 90% identity to a sequence recited in (a). |
