abstract | Disclosed is the use of an amount of a peptide which is a covalent conjugate between a granulocyte colony stimulating factor ( G-CSF ) peptide and a polymeric modifying group, wherein said polymeric modifying group is covalently attached to said peptide at a glycosyl or amino acid residue of said peptide via a glycosyl linking group, wherein said amino acid residue is asparagine, threonine or serine, and wherein said polymeric modifying group is a water-soluble polymer ( poly(ethylene glycol )), in the manufacture of a medicament for preventing infection, for treating severe chronic or relative leukopenia, acute myeloid leukemia, AIDS or other immunodeficiency diseases, bacterial infections, heart diseases, angina, Hepatitis A, B and C, compromised immunity and compromised white blood cell production, idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura, neutropenia, febrile neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, for preventing or reducing the occurrence of acute rejection of organ transplants in a patient, for improving heart function, for treating neurological diseases, Alzheimer's disease and other degenerative disorders. |
