Disclosed is a detergent composition for use as a hand dish detergent, comprising a liquid portion which comprises: (a) at least 10% by weight of the composition of a combination of surfactants; (b) 2 to 3% by weight of the composition of at least one suspending agent comprising an acrylic polymer; and (c) 0.01 to 10% by weight of the composition of at least one viscosity control agent comprising 3.5 to 4.5 weight% propylene glycol ether of methyl glucose with 10 polypropylene oxide units (such as glucam p-10), wherein the viscosity control agent may further comprise at least one material selected from the group consisting of polysorbate 20, glycerine, diethylene glycol, alkoxylates based on ethylene oxide & propylene oxide, sodium cumene sulfonate, and sodium xylene sulfonate; wherein the composition has an apparent viscosity under a shear stress of 0.5 Pa of at least about 1,000 Pa.s, an apparent viscosity under a shear stress of 100 Pa of less than about 10 Pa.s. |
