titleOfInvention | Flow control device that controls fluid flow using disc or body moved by Bernoulli effect |
abstract | Disclosed is a self-adjustable flow control device (2) for controlling the flow of fluid into a production pipe (1) of a well in a reservoir containing at least one of oil or gas. The device (2) comprises an inlet (10) and one or more outlets. A flow path (11) is formed between the inlet (10) and one or more outlets. The flow control device (2) comprises a movable disc or body (9) that is provided in a recess and held by holding means. The fluid enters the flow control device (2) through the inlet (10) and flows towards and along the disc or body (9) and out through the one or more outlets. The disc or body (9) is arranged to move by a force exploiting the Bernoulli Effect that is created when the disc or body (9) is exposed to a flow of liquid and any stagnation pressure that is created over the disc or body (9). The flow -through area of the flow control device (2) is reduced or increased respectively depending on the composition and the properties of the fluid. |
