abstract A fluid-tight slide fastener and an associated process of manufacture is disclosed. The fluid-tight slide fastener including a pair of tapes (12), each of the tapes having an inner textile layer and a fluid barrier layer enveloping the textile layer, and a number of engaging teeth elements (21) provided on a side portion of the tapes. The inner textile layer of tapes is made with a spun yarn of cut fibers which are obtained by cutting a continuous fiber of synthetic textile material into smaller lengths. The spun yarn of cut fibers has surface irregularities which remain embedded in the fluid barrier layer.
