abstract | Provided is an amyloid A-beta fragment linked to a carrier peptide for use in inducing an immune response against A-beta and thereby preventing or treating a disease associated with amyloid deposits of A-beta in the brain of a patient, wherein the A-beta fragment consists of: 5 i) A-beta1-7 having the amino acid sequence DAEFRHD ii) A-beta3-7 having the amino acid sequence EFRHD, or iii) a multimer of i) or ii). Further provided are pharmaceutical compositions comprising the peptide and use of the peptide fragments in the manufacture of a medicament to induce an immune response against A-beta and thereby prevent or treat an associated disease. |
