abstract |
Disclosed is the use of an agent which modulates expression of a gene or the activity of a product encoded by a human GPC3 gene or a mammalian homolog thereof, and wherein the agent is selected from the Jist consisting of (i) a nucleic acid molecule encoding GPC3; (ii) an antisense DNA or RNA molecule to a nucleic acid molecule enCoding GPC3; (iii) a hairpin RNA or siRNA molecule to a nucleic acid molecule encoding GPC3; (iv) GPC3 protein; and (v) an antibody specific for GPC3 protein, in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of a suture-based cranial disorder or bone injury selected from the list consisting of a fracture, greenstick and bone chip in a subject. Further disclosed is the use of an agent as defined above in the manufacture of a medicament for treating a subject to improve bone growth or inhibit bone growth in said subject. |
