Disclosed is a hyperimmune serum-reactive antigen selected from the group consisting of (a) a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:73; (b) a fragment of the polypeptide of (a) which is antigenic itself or antigenic when provided as a hapten; (c) the fragment of (b) comprising an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of the amino acids 4-9, 15-26, 38-52, 65-76, 66-114, 108-115, 119-128 and 144-153 of SEQ ID No.422; and (d) the polypeptide or fragment of any of (a) to (c) in which at least one or only a few amino acids are exchanged, provided that the so modified peptide or fragment thereof are suited for eliciting an immune response in an individual vaccinated with a so modified polypeptide or fragment thereof. |
