abstract |
Disclosed is a granulocyte colony stimulating factor peptide comprising a glycosyl linking group attached to an amino acid residue of said peptide, said glycosyl linking group comprising a modified sialyl residue having the formula (I) wherein the substituents are disclosed within the specification. Also disclosed is the use of the peptide of formula (I) in the manufacture of a medicament for stimulating inflammatory leukocyte production or for treating infection. Also disclosed is a method of preparing the peptide of formula (I) using an enzyme that transfers PEG-sialic acid from a donor onto the Gal of the moiety. |
