titleOfInvention | Communication method and apparatus |
abstract | Communications apparatus is disclosed which includes: a receiver for receiving RF input signals via multiple antennas. The receiver includes first and second input channels, a first phase rotator and a first signal comparator. The first input channel is associated with a first input signal received via a first antenna and the second input channel is associated with a second input signal received via a second antenna. The first signal comparator is configured to develop a first control output signal based on a phase difference between the first and second input signals, and the first phase rotator includes a first vector multiplier configured to rotate the phase of one input signal with respect to the other based on the first control output signal. The apparatus further includes a transmitter for transmitting RF output signals via multiple antennas including a first output channel associated with a first output signal and a second output channel associated with a second output signal, a second phase rotator and a second signal comparator, wherein the second signal comparator is configured to develop a second control output signal based on the phase difference between the first and second input signals, and the second phase rotator is configured to rotate the phase of one output signal with respect to the other based on the second control output signal. |
