Disclosed is 2-(butyl-1-sulfonylamino)-N-[1(R)-(6-methoxypyridin-3-yl)propyl]benzamide of the formula (I) and its physiologically tolerable salts. The compounds are useful for the treatment or prophylaxis of cardiac arrhythmias, supraventricular arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation and atrial flutters. Also disclosed is 1(R)-(6-methoxypyridin-3-yl)propylamine, a useful intermediate for the preparation of compounds of formula (I). |
