Targeting an allergen to the MHC class II processing and presentation pathway in a vaccination group induces a strong Th1 immune response |
abstract |
Recombinant nucleic acids encoding an allergen, a signal peptide which directs the translocation of the allergen to the endoplasmic reticulum, and preferably a second signal peptide targeting the gene product to an endosome or lysosome. When administered the recombinant nucleic acid induces Th1 type immunity and inhibits IgE production. Used in the treatment and prevention of allergic reactions. |
