titleOfInvention | Universal teeth prosthesis and method of manufacture thereof |
abstract | A teeth prosthesis 1 using a three-part structure for mounting a set of teeth is disclosed. The teeth prosthesis 1 has at least three implants 2, each implant having opposite ends, one end of each implant being anchored in a bone of a maxilla while an opposite end projects out of a gingiva and defines a head. A connecting bar 4 is fastened to the implants 2 and is shaped and sized to conform to the gingiva. The connecting bar is fastened to the implants 2 only after it has been adjusted to the mouth of the user in order to remove any pressure or tension on the implants. A pair of mating bars with standardized sizes and shapes are also provided, consisting of a meso-bar 6 fastened to the connecting bar and an iso-bar removably attached to the meso-bar. The teeth prosthesis 1 is more economical to produce than prior art devices since it makes use of customized components and only the connecting bar is adjusted for a specific person. |
