abstract |
Disclosed is an inclusion complex of aripiprazole in a substituted b-cyclodextrin, wherein the b-cyclodextrin is sulfobutyl ether b-cyclodextrin(SBECD) or hydroxypropyl b-cyclodextrin (HPBCD). Also disclosed is a pharmaceutical formulation comprising aripiprazole and a substituted b-cyclodextrin, wherein the substituted b-cyclodextrin is sulfobutyl ether b-cyclodextrin (SBECD) or hydroxypropyl b-cyclodextrin (HPBCD). Aqueous injectable formulations comprising aripiprazole and the above substituted b-cyclodextrins are suitable for administering to a patient without causing unacceptable irritation at the site of injection. |
