Method for generating immune-compatible cells and tissues using nuclear transfer techniques |
abstract |
Disclosed herein is a method of testing the immune compatibility of cloned cells or tissues in a non-human donor animal that comprises: (a) providing a cell from said non-human donor animal; (b) transferring the nucleus from said cell into a non-human recipient oocyte or other suitable non-human recipient cell to generate an embryo; (c) isolating at least one inner cell mass, at least one embryonic disk and/or at least one stem cell from said embryo; (d) injecting at least one of said inner cell masses, at least one of said embryonic discs, and/or at least one of said stem cells into said non-human donor animal at the same time as at least one non-human control embryonic disk and/or at least one non-human control stem cell is injected into said non-human donor animal; and (e) examining at least one of the injection sites for teratoma formation. |
