titleOfInvention | Remotely controlled medication delivery system |
abstract | A remotely controlled-medication delivery system (610) is disclosed. The remotely controlled-medication delivery system (610) includes: (a) a medical treatment device (612) that has a supply of medication and a means for delivering the medication to the patient, where the medical treatment device (612) is disposed in a first location, (b) a processor (628) coupled to the medical device (612), where the processor (628) is configured to execute a control algorithm, (c) a sensing device (616) coupled to the processor (628) executes the control algorithm, where the sensing device (616) sends a signal to the control algorithm, wherein the control algorithm processes the signal received from the sensing device (616) and develops a feedback control based on a result of processing the signal to determine whether medication should be delivered from the medical treatment device (612) to the patient, and providing the feedback control to the medical treatment device (612) to control the delivery of the medical treatment to the patient, and (d) a remote controller (646) disposed at a second location remote from the first location, where the remote controller (646) has an input device to control operation of the processor (628) and the control algorithm executed by the processor (628). |
