A compound is disclosed with the formula Xaa-Xbb-Arg-H. Xaa represents an alpha-substituted carbonic acid residue of the formula Q-CH(R)-CO wherein Q represents a 1-3 carbon alkoxycarbonylamino group, a methylamino group, or a hydroxyl group; R represents a 7-9 carbon cycloalkylmethyl group, a 1-adamanthylmethyl group, or a 5-7 carbon cycloalkyl group; and Xbb represents an L-proline or L-azetidine-2-carboxylic acid residue. Also disclosed are compounds with the structures of formula 1, 2, 3 and 4. The compounds are explained to have inhibitory action on clot-bound thrombin and factor Xa and are also inhibitory against plasmin and plasminogen activators. Therefore, the use of the peptide arginal compounds is for the manufacture of a medicament for treating a patient having disseminated intravascular coagulation. |
