A suspension system for a fan motor of a combustion chamber in a combustion-powered tool (10) for driving a fastener into a workpiece, the tool (10) generating an upward axial acceleration of the motor (40) upon a combustion in the chamber (36) and a subsequent reciprocal axial acceleration of the motor (40), at least one of the accelerations causing the motor (40) to oscillate relative to the tool (10), the suspension mechanism comprising: a mount (60) having an inner ring (62) configured to be secured to the motor (40), an outer ring (66) configured to be secured to a portion of the tool (10), and a web (64) radially disposed between and connecting said inner (62) and outer ring (66), said inner ring, outer ring, and web being a unitary piece. |
