abstract | Disclosed is a method as well a kit for the performance of the method for the investigation the origin of a biological samples, wherein the method includes the following steps: (a) Assigning at least two marker substances to a mammal,; (b)providing the mammal with at least two marker substances; (c) Investigating the biological sample for the presence and/or amount of at least two marker substances or a derivative thereof; (d) comparing the result of the investigation with the at least two marker substances assigned to the mammal and thereby identifying whether the biological sample originated from the mammal to which the marker substances were provided. The biological sample investigated is urine and wherein the at least two marker substances provided to the mammal are chosen from isoprenoids, lipids, saccharides, polyols or polyethylene glycols. |
