abstract |
A screening method for infectious agents of human prion diseases in samples is described. The method comprises detecting the deposition of an aberrant prion protein in the follicular dendritic cell (FDC) of a knock-in non-human animal that expresses a humanized prion protein gene. Also described is a method of screening for preventive or therapeutic agents for human prion diseases. |
