abstract | A substantially purified or isolated nucleic acid encoding Indeterminate1 ( ID1 ), a putative transcriptional regulator of flowering transition, and its polypeptide sequence from a ryegrass (Lolium) species are described. Vectors and plant cells comprising the nucleic acid are described. The nucleic acid can be introduced into a plant to modify plant life cycles and growth phases in a plant, i.e. flowering processes, flowering and plant architecture inflorescence and flower development or can be used as a molecular marker. |
