An imidazole derivative or a pharmaceutically acceptable ester or salt thereof has the formula (I) wherein: X is -CH2-(CH2)p-, -O-, =NH or -S-; R1 is optionally substituted phenyl, naphthyl, 1, 2, 3, 4- tetrahydronaphthyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, cycloalkynyl or a mono- or bicyclic aromatic or optionally saturated heterocyclic group with 5 to 10 ring atoms which are carbon atoms and one to three heteroatoms selected from N, O and S; R2 is H or alkyl; R3 is H or alkyl; R4 is H or alkyl; R5 is H, or R5 and R7 form together a bond; each R6 is independently halogen, -OH, -NH2, haloalkyl, alkyl, alkoxy or OH-alkyl; R7 is H, OH or alkyl, or R7 and R5 form together a bond; each R8 is independently OH, alkyl, haloalkyl or alkoxy; m is 0 to 3; n is 0 or 1; p is 0 or 1; r is 0 or 1 and t is 0,1 or 2. The compounds are useful for treating neurological, psychiatric, cognition disorder, diabetes, a lipolytic disorder, orthostatic hypotension or sexual dysfunction. |
