abstract | An isolate Prostate Stem Cell Antigen protein consists of the amino acid sequence beginning with glycine at position 18 and ending with histidine at position 98 or beginning with leucine at position 21 and ending with alanine at position 99 according to SEQ ID NO:2 or consisting of the sequence TARIRAVGLLTVISK or VDDSQDYYVGKK. Also described are nucleic acid sequences encoding the proteins, a method for detecting a nucleic acid molecule encoding the protein in a sample and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the proteins. The protein can be used for inducing an immune response directed against a cell expressing a PSCA protein. An antibody or immunologically active fragment which binds the PSCA protein can be used fro inhibiting the growth of a cell or killing a cell expressing the PSCA protein. |
