Method of enhancing humoral or cellular responses initiated by DNA vaccination |
abstract |
A vaccine composition comprises a nucleotide sequence that encodes for an antigenic peptide associated with a disease state and which is within an appropriate vector and a compound. The compound will enhance both humoral and cellular immune responses in a mammal, which are initiated by the antigenic peptide. Preferably the compound is 4-(2-formyl-hydroxyphenoxymethyl) benzoic acid. Also described are the uses of the compound in a medicament for enhancing humoral and cellular responses initiated by an antigenic peptide associated with a disease sate in a mammal. The peptide being expressed as a result of the administration of a nucleotide sequence encoding for the peptide. |
