abstract | A piperazine derivative or an addition salt thereof has the formula (I) wherein: R1 is hydrogen, alkyl or phenylalkyl; R2 is hydrogen, hydroxyl or a protecting group for the amidino group; R3 is -NH-CO-R6 or -NH-SO2R7; R6 is alkoxy, cycloalkoxy, benzyloxy, methoxyphenyl, dimethoxyphenyl, benzodioxolyl or benzodioxanyl; R7 is optionally substituted alkyl group, mono- or bicyclic cycloalkyl, mono-, bi- or tricyclic or an optionally substituted aryl, pyridyl, thienyl, quinolyl, benzodioxanyl, benzodioxolyl, isoxazolyl, phenylalkyl or naphthylalkyl, or is a group of formula (II); n is 1, 2 or 3; R4 and R5 are independently hydrogen, group or form, together with the nitrogen atom, a group chosen from piperidyl or morpholinyl and the oxo group is in position 2 or 3 on the piperazine. The compounds are useful for treating thrombus and for inhibiting the aggregation of blood platelets. |
