abstract | A benzoxazine derivative has the formula (I) wherein: X1 and X1 are independently H, N(R3)2, OR4 or CH2OR4 or together are O(CR5)2O, O(CR5)2(CR5)2O, OCR5= CR5, N=CR6CR6=N, N=CR3NR3, =N-O-N=, =N-S-N= or OCR3=N-; Z is O, NR7 or S; each R1 is independently H, alkyl, or fluoroalkyl, each R2 is independently H, halogen, cyano, hydroxy, alkoxy, fluoroalkoxy, thiol, alkyl, fluoroalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, aryl, heteroaryl, arylalkyl, heteroarylalkyl, aryloxy, aryloxyalkyl, arylalkoxy, or heteroarylalkoxy; each R3 and R7 is independently H, alkyl, fluoroalkyl, arylalkyl or heteroarylalkyl; each R4 is independently H, alkyl, fluoroalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, arylalkyl, heteroarylalkyl or aryloxyalkyl; each R5 is H, halogen, cyano, alkyl, fluoroalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, arylalkyl, heteroarylalkyl or aryloxyalkyl; each R6 is H, cyano, hydroxy, alkoxy, alkyl, fluoroalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, arylalkyl, heteroarylalkyl, aryloxy, aryloxyalkyl, arylalkoxy, or heteroarylalkoxy; and n is 2, 3 or 4.
