| abstract |
Provided is a container for a pressurised ready to drink milk-based beverage that develops a think, long lasting foam when the container is opened. The beverage contains between 0.5 to 5g/l of nitrous oxide or carbon dioxide and the beverage within the container is provided with a head space of 9 to 15% relative to the total volume of the container. The head space is saturated with nitrogen so as to have a relative pressure of between 1.5 and 4 bar and this pressure of nitrogen has been found to sufficient to hold the nitrous oxide or carbon dioxide from escaping from the beverage. |
