titleOfInvention | An acidic disinfectant composition comprising an anioninc surfactant and one or more biocides in an aqueous solution |
abstract | A disinfectant composition is outlined, comprising at least one anionic surfactant (0.25%-25& w/w) and one or more biocides thereby providing broad-spectrum biocidal activity, in an aqueous solution buffered at an acidic pH (2.5-4.5). The anionic surfactant may be either a sulfonic acid or an inorganic ester of sulfuric acid or phosphoric acid. The biocides comprise at least one organic biocide, including phenol, aldehyde and ketone compounds, and a monovalent, divalent or trivalent metal, such as lithium, potassium, zinc, copper or silver. The various formulations provided have applications ranging from general household use to applications where more stringent disinfecting activity criteria are required. |
