Method for stabilizing peptides by adding an organic acid and then lyophilizing the peptide mixture |
abstract |
The method of stabilizing a peptide containing the sequence -Asp-Gly or -Asn-Gly which sequence may be susceptible to conversion into a succinimide moiety of formula 1 or a b-rearranged moiety of formula 2 comprises: a) providing a solution of a peptide, b) adding an organic acid and adjusting the pH of the solution to 5 to 6.5 and c) lyophilizing the resulting mixture.. The organic acid can be tartaric acid, citric acid or acetic acid and the peptide can be a hirudin variant or desulphatohirudin. Saccharose and mannitol can also be added to the solution. |
