Beta-lactam antibiotics are formed as auxiliary-free agglomerates that may be formed directly into tablets. The antibiotics include penicillin V potassium, amoxicillin trihydrate, or cephalexin monohydrate. The formation of the agglomerates includes forming a paste of the antibiotic with a liquid, kneading the paste at a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius to 80 degrees Celsius, extruding the paste in a double screwed extruder, and drying of the agglomerate. Particular bulk density and grain size distributions of the agglomerates are disclosed. |
