abstract |
A method of testing a farmed animal to determine resistance or susceptibility to nematode parasites to which that animal is or could be exposed, comprising the step of testing nucleic acid obtained from the animal for the presence or absence of a conservative mutation in the gene encoding interferon gamma. The method is particularly useful in selection of breeding grazing animals where resistance to parasite infection is important. |
