Diabetic therapeutic agent comprising a compound of formula [I] wherein X is a group of formula R4 wherein R, N¿ or ¿O¿ where R, and R5 are the same or different hydrogen atom, an optionally substituted alkyl having 1 to 5 carbon atoms and the like, and R 1 is a hydrogen atom or an amino protecting group; R 1 is an optionally substituted alkyl having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, an optionally substituted alkenyl of 2 to 6 carbon atoms and the like, R 2 is a hydrogen atom, an optionally substituted alkyl of 1 to 5 carbon atoms and the like, R 2 'is a hydrogen atom, and R 3 is an optionally substituted alkyl having 1 to 5 carbon atoms and the like, a promedicament thereof, a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, a hydrate thereof, and a solvate thereof. The compound of the present invention exhibits superior blood sugar reducing effect in hyperglycemia condition, but does not affect blood sugar when in its normal range or in the hypoglycemic state, meaning that it is free of serious side effects such as hypoglycemia. Therefore, the compound is useful as a therapeutic drug for diabetes and also useful as a preventive agent for chronic complications of diabetes. |
