abstract 1- [u- (3,4-dihydro-2-naphthalenyl) alkyl] -cyclic-amine derivatives of the general formula (I): wherein R 1 and R 2 are H, halogen, OH, alkyl, alkoxy, hydroxymethyl, etc., or R1 and R2 together form methylenedioxy, trimethylene, etc., R3 is H, etc., R4 is H, OH, alkyl, etc .. R5 is H, alkyl, etc., p is an integer from 2 to 6, and q is an integer from 3 to 7, with the proviso that when p is 2 and q is 5, R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 may not simultaneously be H, as well as salts and N-oxide derivatives of these. Also disclosed is a process for the preparation of the compounds and pharmaceutical compositions containing them. The compounds of the invention have a strong inhibitory effect on urination reflex and are useful as a means of treating frequent urination and urinary bladder incontinence.
