Process for the preparation of fluorinated organic compounds such as organic sulfur pentafluorides. The process includes the steps of converting a compound such as R 2 -S-S-R 2 to R 2 SF 2 by reaction with an inert solvent of R 2 -S-S-R 2 and elemental fluorine. R 1 and R 2 can be e.g. are selected from aryl, heteroaryl, aliphatic or alicyclic groups. |
