| abstract | SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention comprises a process for the preparation of a fish feed and a feed product from proteins such as fish meal, soy flour, rapeseed meal, spring meal, etc, binder such as wheat, starch-containing sources, etc., lipids of marine and / or vegetable origin and conventional additives such as minerals, vitamins and pigments such as astaxanthin. A storage stable intermediate is prepared by mixing the protein material with binder and optionally also the minerals which are then extruded pelleted, granulated or formed into porous pellets suitable for transport and storage. The intermediate is further processed by introducing a gel containing water and lipids or an emulsion containing water and, lipids, into the pores of a vacuum chamber and wherein the vitamins and pigments have been mixed with the gel or emulsion prior to introduction into the vacuum chamber and the vacuum is relaxed. slowly and thus produced fish feed then transferred to storage or directly to a fish farm cage.
