Methods and compositions for treating and alleviating symptoms and illness associated with indications of a physiological drive to relieve a feeling of anxiety are described. More specifically, methods and compositions for treating and alleviating symptoms of substance abuse and abstinence are described. Methods and compositions are described for the treatment and relief of symptoms associated with addiction to antidepressants, opiates, nicotine or marijuana. Following a procedure, a patient is treated with a composition that directly or indirectly modulates GABAA by modulating the expression of the GABAA receptor (4-subunit). |
