| abstract |
Described herein is a coated particle comprising a substrate comprising an inorganic material, wherein the inorganic material comprises silica and alumina in a weight ratio of silica to alumina of from about 2.2 to about 5; and wherein the inorganic material has a belly density of less than or equal to about 1 g / cm 3; and a coating applied to the substrate. Also described herein is a method of treating a subsurface formation comprising injecting a fracturing fluid into the subsurface formation; wherein the fracturing fluid comprises an inorganic particle comprising silica and alumina in a weight ratio of silica to alumina of from about 2.2 to about 5; and wherein the inorganic particle has a bulk density of less than or equal to about 1 g / cm 3. |
