titleOfInvention Small particles of copper pyrite.
abstract Described herein is a composition comprising a non-dusty copper pyrite dispersion comprising small copper pyrite solid particles dispersed in a liquid dispersant, the solid particles having a particle size within a range of from about 0.1 to about 10 microns and an average particle size of less than 3 micrometers. The dispersion is advantageously used as an anti-grit additive for ship paints without the risk of personnel being exposed to copper pyrite dust. Paints containing the copper pyrite with small particles show improved antigroat in cold water, compared with paints containing the copper pyrite with larger particles.
