titleOfInvention Controlled release pesticide and fertilizer briquettes
abstract A wear and crush resistant plant nutrient / pesticide briquette composition is disclosed which shows slow release of food and biologically active materials over a long period of time, including slow release plant nutrient particles, pesticide sorbent particles, liquid systemic pesticide sorbent and pesticide sorbent pesticide particles, , which coat the plant nutrient with slow release and pesticide sorption particles, wherein the composition is formed into briquettes by pressing into molds at elevated pressures and temperatures to produce briquettes that are resistant to wear and crushing. There is provided a six-step process for preparing the slow release briquettes from slow release fertilizers such as magnesium ammonium phosphate; pesticide sorption particles, such as activated carbon; liquid systemic pesticide emulsions, such as imidacloprid; and adhesives, such as a vinylidene chloride, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, acrylic acid resin emulsion.
