| abstract |
Preparation for reducing swelling of wood in contact with water. The composition contains, as polymerized units, i) 55-99.9% by weight of the total polymer of one or more (meth) acrylic acid ester monomers of the formula: CH-co (I) O wherein R 1 is hydrogen or a methyl group and R 2 alkyl or alkenyl group containing at least 12 carbon atoms, and ii) 0.1-45% by weight of the total polymer of one or more monomers copolymerizable with (I). The invention also relates to a method for reducing the rate at which a biocide is washed out of wood. |
