| abstract |
Process for the production of a thermostable crosslinked PVC copolymer in which the crosslinking is carried out in the presence of moisture and after processing of the polymer. A copolymer of vinyl chloride and 0.05-10% by weight of a vinyl-containing alkoxysilane compound is used. Preferably methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane or methacryloxypropyltriethoxysilane is used as a comonomer. The crosslinking can be performed regardless of the type of stabilizer. A condensation catalyst as well as an inhibitor can be used to prevent premature crosslinking. |
