titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR PREPARING AN AMINO ACID OR PEPTIDES WITH ONE OR MORE PROTECTED GUANIDINO GROUPS.
abstract Prodn. of amino acids or peptides contg. one or more protected guanidino gps. is effected by reacting an amino acid or peptide contg. one or more guanidine gps. with a reactive deriv. (I) of a tri(1-5C alkyl) benzenesulphonic acid. (I) is a 2,4,6-trialkylbenzenesulphonyl halide, esp. mesitylenesulphonyl chloride (MSSCl). Protection is effected at -10 to +25 (esp. -5 to +10)deg. C in the presence of 1-10 (esp. 1-5) equivs. of a base and an aprotic polar solvent. Deprotection is pref. effected with a 1-3C alkanesulphonic acid or halosulphonic acid.
