titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR PREPARING ISOPROPANOL AND OXYGENIZED FUELS. |
abstract | The invention relates to a process for the preparation of isopropanol by hydrating propylene and comprises the steps of the reaction of a propylene-containing starting material with water in the presence of a cation exchanger catalyst under the conditions of mixed-phase direct hydration, at a temperature of approximately 135 to 190 DEG C and a pressure of approximately 6896 to 13792 kPa, a molar ratio of water:propylene of approximately 5 to 15 and a propylene liquid hourly space velocity rate of approximately 0.15 to 1.5, and a continuous process for the direct mixing of isopropanol from an aqueous isopropanol solution into a stream of mixed petroleum hydrocarbons by mixing the aqueous solution with the petroleum, rapid separation of the mixture obtained into two phases, for example in such a way that the phase is passed through a water coalescer unit and the organic phase, which consists essentially of the petroleum and isopropanol, is obtained. |
