abstract | Novel catalyst comprises the reaction prod. of (A) an aluminium hydrocarbyl treated with an electron donor cpd. and (B) a support contg. chlorine, bromine and magnesium, where the molar ratio of bromine to chlorine ranges from 1:99-50:50 pref. 2.5:97.5 to 20:80 esp. 2.5:97.5 to 15:85 and is obtd. by reactinq an organo magnesium cpd. with a mixt. of chlorinated and brominated aluminium cpds., the support having been additionally treated with an electron donor cpd. and with titanium tetrachloride. Polymerisation of olefins such as ethylene, propylene, butone-1 etc. to form polymers of high mol. wt., high yields and high degree of isotacticity. |
