titleOfInvention Epi-cutaneous allergy testing by adhesive carrier strip - supporting pockets of test substance in contact with skin
abstract A carrier sheet supports an array of test substances each of which is located in a pocket surrounded by an annular depression. The carrier is non-absorbent and is adhesive on the side which carries the pockets. During transport a cover sheet protects the test substances in the pockets. At the time of use the cover sheet is removed and the carrier is pressed against the patient until it adheres. The plane of the pockets lies in the plane of the remainder of the carrier so that the test substances make effective contact with the patient.. The device is used for epicutaneous testing to clarify the etiology and diagnosis of allergic contact eczema. It may also be used for the administration of therapeutical medicaments for the treatment of local skin disease or for systematic therapeutical treatment.
