titleOfInvention | ANIMAL FEED. |
abstract | Solid feed for calves comprises 15-20% dried milk prods.(A) and 25-35% predigested cereal (B). Pref. (A) is dried skimmed milk and-or dried whey; (B) is pref. derived from maize, barley and-or wheat. These feeds are used to replace a part of the calves' diet before weaning, esp. so as to reduce the intake of liq. milk substitute to 6l. per calf per day. The use of this feed prevents the check to wt. gain which calves sometimes suffer after weaning. It is esp. useful when the calves are fed before weaning with an acidified liq. milk substitute. |
